A Bad Batch Mid-Review: The Tragedy of Order 66
Current viewership of The Bad Batch on Disney+ is down pretty far. This is disappointing, but understandable. Not a lot of Star Wars fans have taken The Clone Wars very seriously, even after Season 8’s enigmatic and succinct finish of the series (consider that Jango Fett was recruited on one of the moons of Bodgon, and the Venator-Class Cruiser carrying Ashoka at the time of Order 66 crash-landed on one of the moons of Bogdon so one could charitably say the story of the Clone Wars finished where it had started). Further, the explosive and intriguing elements within the Bad Batch trailer pretty much fizzled out after the first episode, with many of the questions being answered, and any that remained didn’t seem to keep the audience interested. This is partially, in my opinion, because of Omega, the new helpless and “pathetic lifeform” that cool dudes in Mandolorian helmets have to protect.
